About the Forum: Our Place in the Region” is the third of five forums as part of the 2020 Policy Series. The purpose of this forum is to provide an economic development update and do so with a regional focus and forward-thinking approach.

Segment 1: "Our Place in the Region," featuring RTP President and CEO Scott Levitan, who will share the RTP vision to bring the region together and a prescription for success.

Segment 2: "Our Industries and Infrastructure," featuring industry and infrastructure leaders - UNC Vice Chancellor for Research Terry Magnuson, UNC Hospitals President Janet Hadar, and Regional Transportation Alliance (RTA) Executive Director Joe Milazzo - who will all speak to current initiatives, impacts on the region, and our opportunities and challenges ahead.

Segment 3: "Our Own Backyard," featuring elected officials and economic development leaders - Chair of the Orange County Board of Commissioners Penny Rich,  Communication Specialist for the Chatham County Economic Development Corporation Ann Fitts, Chapel Hill Mayor Pam Hemminger, and Carrboro Mayor Pro-Tem Barbara Foushee - who will share key project updates.
