Recognizing outstanding community service 

Each December, we recognize many individuals who are committed to making Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro a thriving, healthy, and sustainable community. 

This year, award winners will be recognized on center court at the Carolina home basketball game on December 13th against the Citadel, and cheered on by thousands of friends, families, and supporters. The 2022 winners of the following awards will be announced: 

  • Hillsborough Officer of the Year
  • Carrboro Police Officer of the Year
  • UNC Public Safety Employee of the Year
  • Chapel Hill Police Officer of the Year
  • Orange County Emergency Services Employees of the Year
  • Orange County Sheriff Employee of the Year
  • Chapel Hill Firefighter of the Year
  • Carrboro Firefighter of the Year
  • South Orange Rescue Squad Member of the Year

We have reserved a block of tickets together in section 226 in Upper B. Each award winner is entitled to four complimentary tickets to the game: the award winner + one guest, one department representative, and one organizational representative. Additional tickets are available to attendees at a discounted rate of $16 per person. Please be sure to select the appropriate ticket type when registering. 

Space is limited and registration is required.
