2021 Salute to Community Heroes and Local Government Appreciation Reception presented by AT&T

Recognizing outstanding community service 

Each December at a festive after hours event, The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro recognizes many individuals who are committed to making Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro a thriving, healthy, and sustainable community. 

This year, we will gather in the Sheraton's Blue Hill Ballroom from 6:30-7:30pm for the awards ceremony. The Chamber will announce the 2021 winners of the following awards: 

  • Hillsborough Officer of the Year
  • Carrboro Police Officer of the Year
  • UNC Public Safety Employee of the Year
  • Chapel Hill Police Officer of the Year
  • Orange County Emergency Services Employees of the Year
  • Orange County Sheriff Employee of the Year
  • Orange Rural Fire Department Firefighter of the Year
  • Chapel Hill Firefighter of the Year
  • Carrboro Firefighter of the Year
  • UNC Hospitals Officer of the Year
  • South Orange Rescue Squad Member of the Year

Join us prior to the awards ceremony for a special Business After Hours event from 5:30-6:30pm outside on the Legends Terrace. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be provided. 

The event is free to attend and open to the public. Space is limited and registration is required. 

***For this and all in-person Chamber events, vaccination is required***
with the exception of children under 12
