Women's Seminar & Social

Tuesday, July 30, 2024 (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Join us at the Innovate Carolina Junction on Tuesday, July 30 for a two-part event to connect with fellow women of The Chamber.

Part 1: Professional Development Seminar with Bell Leadership

From 3-5 p.m. we'll be hosting a professional development seminar at Innovate Carolina Junction lead by Deborah Grayson Riegel and Sophie Riegel. The mother-daughter duo will speak on Overcoming Overthinking: How Women can Navigate Work and Life with Resilience in Times of StressProgram Description:

Healthy levels of stress can help us set clear goals, prioritize our tasks, and improve our overall performance. However, when we experience too much stress, it can lead to physical illness, poor performance, and burnout. It is also contagious, spreading between people who work or live together.

Research shows that women of all ages are almost twice as likely to suffer from anxiety as men. And when faced with life stressors, women are more likely to ruminate about them rather than engage in active, problem-focused coping strategies. In addition, women may not even recognize what their own needs are, perpetuating their stress and anxiety.

In this interactive workshop, facilitated by mother-daughter authors, speakers, and leadership coaches Deborah Grayson Riegel and Sophie Riegel, we will explore how to:

•  Navigate what contributes most to your personal levels of stress

•  How to identify and separate helpful from harmful anxiety

•  Mindset shifts to challenge your current thinking

•  Practical strategies to combat overthinking

•  How to ask for and offer support from others

•  How to develop resilience – the ability to withstand, recover, and bounce back from stress

Part 2: The Women of The Chamber Quarterly Networking Social

Following the workshop we'll roll directly into our quarterly gathering and social from 5-7 p.m.

This event will feature a delicious spread of heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks provided by our host sponsors from the Innovate Carolina Junction.

You can choose to come to either of both of these back to back women's programs.
