About the academy: The Summer Careers Academy is a new registered youth apprenticeship program designed as an eight week career training program that will take place in the summer and connect local youth (ages 16-24) with new skills, paid work experiences, and compelling career pathways into in-demand fields. The inaugural program (Summer 2022) will focus on the skilled trades ("Building our Future"). The vision is to expand the Summer Careers Academy model to other industries (i.e., IT and health care) and other counties in subsequent years. Read the Oct 2021 announcement.
