Groundbreaking - The ArtsCenter

Please join The Artscenter at 4 p.m. on September 22 as they mark the moment and celebrate the start of their renovation project at 400 Roberson Street in Carrboro. The ArtsCenter will be unveiling new temporary signage which is a celebration of our creative community and includes artwork from local community groups and artists of all ages.

About The ArtsCenter

The ArtsCenter, located in Carrboro, exists in order to educate and inspire artistic creativity and to enrich the lives of people of all ages. Since our inception 50 years ago The ArtsCenter has grown from a single music class into a dynamic multi-disciplinary educational arts center serving the community through professionally taught classes in ceramics; drawing/painting/mixed media; fabric/fiber arts; jewelry/glass; photography/film/digital arts; dance/movement; theatre; and writing. Plans are now underway to remodel a building just two blocks away from our current location to serve as our new home. The renovated structure will include green design features, purpose-built and adaptable spaces suited for modern technologies and windows (!), something crucial to creativity that has been lacking in our current space.
