What: The Economic Forecast Forum
When: Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 8:00am-10:00am
Where: The Lumina Theater
Why: The purpose of this forum is for Chamber members and friends to receive timely information on the current performance and future predictions of our national, state, regional, and local economy.
Who: This year's speaker is Sarah Dickerson, a Research Economist at Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and Assistant Research Professor at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Sarah has worked both in academia and the private sector, focusing on econometric modeling and housing economics. Her academic research explores the consequences of housing instability and migration, with recent work that evaluates global migration models.
We will also be reporting on the results from our Local Business Conditions Survey. Now in its 15th year, this annual survey is critical in our efforts to take the pulse of the local economy — helping us better understand the challenges, opportunities, and trends shaping our business community. Your experience is invaluable to helping us get a realistic and timely understanding of what it is like to do business in our community. Tell us about your experience here.
