Takeaways from the All Business Briefing

By Katie Loovis, CBA staff support

The Carrboro Business Alliance (CBA) co-hosted an All Business Briefing with the Town of Carrboro on Wednesday, April 13. This in-person event allowed local business owners and employers to reconnect, receive timely updates, and provide feedback for a more vibrant Carrboro.

Guest speakers included representatives from Carrboro Economic Development, the Orange County Visitors Bureau, and The Chamber. The findings from The Chamber's local employer survey were discussed. The key finding was that local employers throughout Orange County are feeling optimistic, but Carrboro-based employers less-so (view presentation).

During the briefing, participants divided into small groups to discuss what their organizations need to be successful in the short-term (next six months) and the long-term (next three to five years). Responses included help with recruiting and retaining talent (workforce development), access to capital, and a faster (re)development process.

The CBA is membership organization committed to connecting members with information, customers, and other enterprises; representing the local business interests with policymakers; and promoting members and the Carrboro community. All Carrboro-serving enterprises are invited to learn more and join
