Chapel Hill Carrboro Crop Walk

Sunday, March 22, 2026

Description

The 39th Annual Chapel Hill-Carrboro CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2026!

Walk registration begins at 1:30pm. Step off time is 2:30pm

The need has never been greater for those facing food security in our community and around the world.

Each year, congregations and organizations from Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Orange County come together to raise funds for programs that seek to eradicate hunger. Our goal is to raise $50,000 with 25% of those funds benefiting the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service (IFC), a local non-profit that confronts the effects of poverty. Church World Service will use the remaining funds for emergency food supplies, agricultural training and equipment, livestock, wells and pumps for fresh water, healthcare and education in both the U.S. and around the world.

The walk launches from the Carrboro Town Commons and winds along town streets and the UNC campus before returning to the Commons via the Libba Cotten Bike Path. The route is family and dog-friendly, measuring about three miles with a one-mile option. Come early to enjoy live music, food, UNC mascot Rameses and a Fleet Feet drawing!

There is plenty of public parking around the Commons.

We’re also collecting these items for our on-site Food/Toiletry Drive: any tomato-based/protein item (in cans) and deodorant. However all shelf-stable items/toiletries are gladly accepted.
