Chapel Hill, NC (Sept. 29, 2021) - The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro is proud to announce its partnership with Hope Renovations, a Carrboro-based non-profit organization, to complete a full-scale office renovation at its location on S. Estes Street in Chapel Hill.

“Our decision to partner with Hope Renovations to complete our office renovation aligns with our mission and our values,” CEO Aaron Nelson said. “Nora Spencer and her team at Hope Renovations have approached the project with complete professionalism, diligence, and hard work. With their talented work, our new space will be able to better serve our members, our community, and our professional staff. We are very happy we hired Hope Renovations and encourage others to support their work serving our community and providing women an avenue into the trades.”

Founded by Spencer, Hope Renovations empowers women to pursue living-wage jobs in construction trades by providing a hands-on training program.

“We are excited to take on new, big projects like The Chamber’s because these opportunities give us great hands-on opportunities for our trainees, and provide us with capacity-building funding that can be put back into our mission,” Spencer said.

As the general contractor for the project, Spencer and her team will oversee new flooring for the entire office space, a complete, ADA-compliant kitchen and bathroom overhaul, and a ceiling upgrade. The space will feature upgraded, accessible interior and exterior doors, as well as fresh paint.

In addition to taking on small-to-medium remodels, Hope Renovations specializes in renovations and repairs, completed on a sliding scale, that enables older adults to stay in their homes as they age. For its work, Hope Renovations was honored with The Chamber’s 2020 Innovation Award as part of the 2020 Business Excellence Awards.

“The money that we earn on renovation projects of this magnitude allows us to fund projects for seniors in the community and enables us to continue to grow our training program. It is a win-win situation because The Chamber gets an awesome renovation, and we get to take the money and pour it back into our local community.”

The space will tout a welcome area and coffee bar for visitors and will allow Chamber staff to accommodate meeting groups in two upgraded conference areas.

The Chamber For the Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro is Hope Renovations’ first commercial client. The renovation is set to be complete in early October.
