CBA Seeks Nominations for 2020 Leadership Council and Committees

Carrboro Business Alliance

What: The Carrboro Business Alliance is accepting nominations for the Leadership CouncilPolicy Committee, and Marketing Committee

When: The application period is underway and ongoing. 

About the Opportunity: Executives at local business or nonprofit enterprises in Carrboro, who are members of the Carrboro Business Alliance, are eligible. Service is voluntary and is a two-year commitment. The Leadership Council and the Committees each convene for monthly meetings that run approximately 60-75 minutes. Benefits of participation include providing input that shapes CBA policies and programs. Responsibilities include volunteering, on occasion, to represent the CBA at local events and/or speak at Board of Aldermen meetings. 

Time Commitment:

  • The Leadership Council convenes at YouthWorx on Main on the third Tuesday morning of every month from 8:00-9:15am (75 minutes) 
  • The Policy Committee convenes at Tyler's on the second Tuesday of every month from 4-5pm (60 minutes). 
  • The Marketing Committee convenes over lunch on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 12-1:15pm (75 minutes) at TBD Carrboro-based eateries.  

About the CBA: The Carrboro Business Alliance was founded in 2014 by a small group of local business and nonprofit leaders who saw the opportunity to improve collaboration and advance shared goals. Today, the Carrboro Business Alliance includes nearly 100 Carrboro-serving enterprises ranging from one person studios to national corporations. The CBA is governed by a Leadership Council with guidance from two Committees (Policy and Marketing), and operates with administrative support from The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro.
