Chamber Applauds the Naming of Dr. Kevin Guskiewicz as the 12th Chancellor of UNC-Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL, NC: The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro (The Chamber) applauds the UNC Board of Governors and UNC System for naming Dr. Kevin Guskiewicz the 12th Chancellor of UNC-Chapel Hill.
 
Chancellor Guskiewicz is a distinguished leader in the field of neuroscience and is world renowned for his innovative research in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sport-related concussions. In fact, he earned the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship in 2011, which is affectionately known as the “Genius Grant,” and he was named a Time magazine “Game Changer” in 2013 for being an “innovator and problem-solver who is inspiring change in America.”
 
For nearly 25 years, Chancellor Guskiewicz and his wife Amy, a successful local real estate agent and former teacher, have called Chapel Hill home. Their deep love for our community is well-known and Chancellor Guskiewicz’s keen appreciation for the connection between the university and the community is valued.
 
It is important that Chapel Hill be a desirable place to live, work, and raise a family when recruiting and retaining world class talent.
