Operations Assistant - Part Time

Operations Assistant will work in tandem with, and will report directly to, the Director of Operations. This person will assist with all aspects of the nonprofit program, including: correspondence with applicants, their families, and SKJAJA partners; contact with volunteer Application Review Committee; social media posting; newsletter creation and some graphic design, and minor bookkeeping.


• must be comfortable with computers, including: MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite, and social media platforms (HootSuite, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)

• must have good written communication skills

• display a friendly touch – both written and verbal – when dealing with customers / families

• knowledgeable about social media, with clear understanding of how posting / online communication is a reflection of, and can be used to grow, our brand

Additional needs:

• experience with the CHCCS school system (as a parent, educator or administrator)

• knowledge of available local youth activities

• experience with minor bookkeeping (either personal or professional)

• familiarity with graphic design


Oversee student applications as they come in, assess completion and prepare for monthly Application Committee review meeting.

Correspond with school social workers, extracurricular vendors and families.

Assist with marketing efforts, such as social media tracking / posting, newsletter content creation in Constant Contact, and building graphic design elements for same.

Minor financial bookkeeping, including check processing, deposits, and reporting.

This person is slated to work 20-hours per week. Salary will be in line with the 2021 Orange County Living Wage recommendation: $15.40 per hour.  Please contact Director of Operations, Susan Roth, to apply:
